Name: Kameron Nightingale
College: Livingstone
Position: Defensive End / Outside Linebacker
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 245
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Kameron: Competitive, Athletic, Playmaker.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Kameron: I’ve switched the way I eat. I’m a Pescatarian now, meaning I only eat seafood products and veggies. I’m going to lose about 15 pounds and continue to do field/agility work and get stronger in the weight room.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Kameron: I’d have to compare myself to Julius Peppers as he has high intelligence of the game, can play multiple positions on the Defensive Line even linebacker, can pass rush, drop back in coverage, stops the run, and always makes 1 or 2 plays a game that has huge impact.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Kameron: The first thing I look at is an Offensive Linemen’s foot work. Then, I look at a linemen’s tendency’s like is he a leaner, does he like to quick set, does he move his feet after contact, what kind of leverage does this guy play with, and is he violent with his hands. I then look at the QB to check his foot work, escape ability, and tendencies.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Kameron: I’m a playmaker. I have quick feet and know how to do my job. If my coach asks me to set the edge, that’s exactly what I will do. If he asks me to blow up a pulling guard, I’ll do it. If he tells me to get a sack or make a play. I’ll do it. Take away the flat route, I’ll do it. I just take my coaching and make the plays that come to me. My first step, quick feet, leverage, and want to, are things that separate from other players. I don’t care if your All-Pro in the NFL or a freshman at a NAIA school, when you line up on the other side from me, you are going to have compete, play at a high level, bring it every play, and play mistake free football. I’m truly confident in my abilities on a football field.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Kameron: I could bring a lot to a team on the field. I bring a pass rush, I have playmaking abilities, I force turnovers and change field position. Off the field, I’m a great guy. I’m really laid back humble. I have no problem engaging, talking, and interacting with fans or anybody. I’m low-key, not to big on social media, and very family orientated. Anything you hear about me off the field will definitely be positive.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Kameron: If you are in need of a game changer, I’m your guy. I’m going to show up to practice, workouts, and film as scheduled. I’m going to take the coaching. On game days I’m going to do my job and make 1 or 2 plays that change the game.
