Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
As a team, we made the playoffs and won in the first round. Personally I was able to get double digit touchdowns and have a school record to my name.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think the first thing they would say I’m a hard worker. I care about the game and my teammates. I am coachable and I make sure I’m one of the first guys in the building everyday. I’m a serious competitor and I try to win in everything that I do.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
First I like to go over corrections from the week before. Win or lose, corrections have to be made in order to improve your game. Then I like to look at a defensive coverage breakdown and see how they align to some of our top formations. After that, I focus on individual matchups with the DBs to see how they react to different situations on the field and how I can beat them. It’s obviously more in depth than that but that’s a pretty basic overview.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me is my athletic ability combined with my work ethic. Compared to a lot of the guys in my class, my pro day numbers are up there with the best of them and I have had consistent production throughout my career. I still feel like I’m being overlooked though. Coming from a FCS program, I have a big chip on my shoulder and I feel like that gives me an edge over the competition.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I’m sticking to my strength plan that I’ve been given from my trainers who helped me prepare for pro day as well as attending throwing sessions with my Quarterback. Along with that I’m working receiver drills and conditioning on my own to make sure I can step in day 1 and compete at my highest level. I think one of the biggest things to train is speed endurance so I have been putting an emphasis on that in my training.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am a big physical receiver who also has low 4.4 speed. I can beat a defense in multiple ways by running past them or just going up and getting the ball. I excel in contested catch situations. I feel like when the ball is in the air it’s mine or nobody’s. I don’t shy away from contact and I am active in the run game just as much as the pass game. Most importantly though I am a super competitive person and I want to win every rep that I’m on the field.
