Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
I set out to be an All-Conference and All-American safety and accomplished both of those for myself.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say I am a passionate football player who plays with a chip on his shoulder and with contagious energy.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Throughout a game week, I am focusing on studying my opponents base offensive formations and tendencies, 3rd and Long, Redzone, and Goal line plays. I’m looking to find a teams identity in certain situations. To improve myself, I rewatch the game film from the previous week and am critical of my performance trying to find things to improve upon such as tackling leverage, range in zone coverage, and eyes and feet in man coverage.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My ball skills for a defensive back are elite. I take pride in attacking the ball at it’s highest point and range from sideline to sideline. When the ball is in the air, I take pride in making big plays. I feel defensive backs have a narrative that they don’t have the greatest hands, but I believe my hands separate me from the rest. In college, I have played as an outside corner, a safety in the box, and as a post safety so I would say my versatility is something I take pride in.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently training in Denver, Colorado at Landow Performance. I have found a great facility to improve my speed and explosiveness this off-season. We have a great group of guys that come to work every day eager to get better.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I will bring a sense of confidence and passion that will stand out in any locker room. My encouragement to my peers will stand out because at the end of the day, it’s all about winning and putting our best product on the field each and every week. I have played almost every position in the books growing up which has allowed me to see different points of view and has shaped me into an all around better football player with better instincts.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I would be honored to be apart of any locker room and believe I have intangibles to be a game changer. Coming from a winning program, I know what it looks like to win and that’s the biggest goal. I played a number of positions on special teams and would love to contribute immediately on special teams and work my way into a role on defense. I love the daily grind of learning from the veterans and watching film to create an edge each week. I am durable and have played in 60 career games in college which has allowed me to be put into many different scenarios. Each year in college, I have improved as a football player statistically on the field and in the film room as well. I would provide a spark to a locker room and would come to work every day with a willingness to learn and get better.
