Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
The goals I wanted to set for my team this past season was to leave it all on the field and being the best athlete that’s I could be for the team. That didn’t matter if I had to play special teams if someone got hurt or making that game changing catch or making that block so that the ball carrier may get a small crease to score.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My teammates would perceive me as someone who shows by example and not so much by what I say. I never really talked about what I wanted to do. I just went on the field and did it. Didn’t ever let someone said detour where I wanted to be or my game on and off the field. First one on the field and last one off, uplifting and pushing my teammates to be the best player they can be as well as pushing myself to my Furthest potential!
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I’m studying film I’ll usually grade my effort, assignment and techniques. From the smallest things like foot placement and play recognition all the way to pre-snap reads figuring out the coverage and quarterback connection. Watching film is my most favorite part of my game, I was always taught “ the eye in the sky doesn’t lie “ and I’ve welcomed that in my own game as well as figuring out my opponent’s next move.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from the other prospects in my position is my football IQ and my attention to detail. Along with other things like creativity and speed, hands etc. My attention to detail and perfection are things I consistently harp on everyday. From getting out my breaks with less steps as possible to route adjustments and angles. I can play multiple different positions but my goal is the master each position I play. So then I’m not a one trick pony but a Jack of all trades. I can play inside and out side receiver along with being able to play on the back field and pass block and hit the gaps between then the guards to push the ball forward. Football IQ is also another thing I like about my game because I watch so much film. An receiver can identify the holes in the defense and pick them apart immediately.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My off-season plan has been training in Vancouver, Washington at a facility called “ New Athlete “ where all the athletes are taken care of by Ryan . 5hrs , 6 days a week regiment of hard work , recovery and recoding the body to prepare itself to be able to compete at it top performance while surpassing my competitors in this draft. Since working with New athlete my body , mind and skill has definitely increased over half the amount I thought it would be. This is a great trainer because not only are they worried about the athletes athletic capabilities but as well as the mental health side of it as well.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Strengths I bring to the team is my a ability to adapted and adjust in any situation that’s if I’m going on a route and I have to adjust my body to make the catch or if I’m switching positions and learning a different playbook. Leaning a playbook does come to me easily. From signals , calls , pass protection and routes, it all comes to me very quickly. As well as catch in traffic ability, willing to expend my body to move ball forward or put my team in a more advantageous positions will always be the goal. To WIN!
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
You’re getting a player who is here for business. I can play where ever you want me to play competing and dominating in whatever position you put me in. Just a young athlete looking for an opportunity to prove to you what i can do. Once I get the opportunity you will want to sign me. I’m ready to go and ready to prove myself. Thank you and God bless you.
