Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Although we didn’t win the conference championship my last season at Marshall, I was extremely satisfied with the season. We were able to finish the season with a 5 wins streak and a 9-4 record. I was very happy to win a bowl game with my herd brothers. I love these guys and wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I’m versatile player who can play on all three levels. I believe they would say that I am a mature young man who treat his peers and others with dignity. Lastly, they would say that my work ethic is elite and smarter than people think.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film, I always try to understand the game plan to see what we’re trying to do based on the down / distance. Once I understand the game plan, I can apply it by envision where I would be on the play and how I can be an impact. Usually, I look keys and tendencies from either the quarterback or the running back. It could be the receivers’ split and how they have their feet usually tells a lot.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I have the ability to do a little of everything. As a linebacker, I take pride in stopping the run. I believe the way you tackle sets the tone for the whole game. What set me apart is that I have really good coverage skills. I understand different route combinations.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
I am currently training with Coach Richard at PPF Athletics in Cumming, Georgia.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I believe my work ethic and determination will always drive me to succeed. I bring maturity and discipline on and off the field. I’m somebody who you can count to do the right thing.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
All I need is an opportunity to prove to everyone that I belong on that stage. Whichever team decides to give me that opportunity, they won’t regret it.
