Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
Goals for the season were to win a conference championship and national championship. We won conference and a playoff game but fell short in the regional semifinal.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They’d say I’m a leader on and off the field, hold myself to a high standard, and give the team a spark when we need one.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I focus on the nuances of route running on film, and ways to identify coverages each week. I also look at ways I can make a good play turn into a great play, either by adding something small to a route or a move after the catch.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My hands and my tempo in route running separate me. I have strong hands and make contested catches often. I also use tempo in releases and in/out of breaks to keep the DB on their toes and create separation.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My training this spring is focused on top end speed and explosiveness to showcase good numbers at pro days. I’ll also be running routes as often as possible.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I have a quarterback’s mind in a receiver’s body. In film study or on the field, identifying coverages and understanding where I need to be and when I need to be there give me an advantage every play.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
Whoever gives me a chance will be happy they did. They’ll get everything I’ve got.
