Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
In my final collegiate season my goal was to be an All-American, win a conference championship, and get into the playoffs. Although I unfortunately was not nominated for All-American, I still was able to receive other individual awards that highlighted my high level of play. My team and I were also named conference champions, an accomplishment that has not been done since 2017, making us the third team in program history to advance to the NCAA playoffs.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
My coaches and teammates would say that I am very passionate and work extremely hard. They regularly highlight my dedication to trying to find new ways to be better than yesterday.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
When I watch film, I like to watch my technique to see if I’m consistent with that particular movement, as well as to see where I can make improvements. During the season, I tend to watch for wide receiver tendencies as they are running routes. I like to watch how they are playing when they aren’t getting the ball, if they block, how their routes are against press and off man, etc. Looking for these patterns while watching film has helped me become one of the best corners in the country.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What separates me from other players in my position is that I’m intuitive and can pick up a playbook very quickly. Additionally, I can cover well, I am willing to make tackles, and I am not afraid of getting my nose dirty.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
At this moment, my main priority is focusing on playing to my full potential in the bowl games I have been invited to. For the past 3 years I have been training with Dilligence Training to prepare me for my final collegiate seasons, as well as any future opportunities. As I complete my final semester of grad school, I plan on training at Exceeds Performance Training as an additional resource to enhance my skills for Pro Day.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My strengths are that I can play on the outside at corner, inside at nickel, as well as on special teams. Most people shy away from special teams however, I embrace it because of my return abilities. With my return skills, I feel as though I can add a huge contribution to my team’s success. Off the field, I am a guy that cares about his community and will try my best to help others in need.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am a team guy first and will do whatever the team needs in order for us to be successful. Aside from playing defense, I will sell out on special teams, as it is not a play off, but rather another opportunity to make a game changing play. Lastly, you will get a leader that will encourage others not with words, but with my actions, to be the best version of themselves both on and off the field.
