Name: Tyler Kulka

Position: QB
Height: 6-2

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
This season my goal was to be able to check out of bad plays and get us into good ones. This year the coaches put a lot of faith in me in games with a lot of checks and I feel like I did a very good job this year at seeing what the defense was giving me and checking into good plays. It really helped the players on my team look more to me as a leader than in years before.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
I think the biggest thing the coaches and players would say about me is that I am a hard worker and fierce competitor. I am a guy that will do whatever it takes to win. My coaches call me a field rat in relation to the basketball term a gym rat. I am a guy that’s always on the field getting work in with his receivers. This is Because I want to be the best player that I can be to help my team.
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I think a big thing for me when watching a defenses film is identifying coverages. If I know what the defense os trying to defend against it’s easier for me to know how to attack. So with that I look for tells like safety alignment, linebacker leverage, and studying corner tendency. Through this it makes it easier for me to identify what coverage they are in. If I know what coverage they are going to be in I can get the ball out of my hands quicker and get the ball to our playmakers.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
What sets me apart is my work ethic. My mindset especially being from a small school has always been no one will outwork me. I am a kind of guy that is willing to do whatever it takes no matter what is asked of me.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plans for workouts coming up is continue to train with my trainer up at school and throw with receivers in my area. Then get into a training program with redline sports training to work on specific combine training.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I think on the field a big thing that stands out for me is my control of the game getting more into checking plays at the line has allowed me to be able to understand defenses more and really command an offense. I think talent on the field is a quick release and the ability to throw from different arm angles and be very accurate while doing it. This is big for QBs in the game now a days to be able to make the plays that are needed off script to get the ball into your play makers hands. I feel off the field you are getting a stand up guy who loves everyone. I went on a 2 year mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am someone who is very strong in my faith. My faith has always taught me to treat people as the savior would treat them with live and compassion.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
To the NFL and other pro leagues looking to sign me on their team, you will see a guy that has been Loyal to a program. Someone has started a program from scratch and built it from the ground up and didn’t leave or transfer even when it got tough. I am someone who is willing to do whatever it takes. I am a hard worker that makes everyone around him better. I am a guy who cares about everyone around him. Definitely a guy that is a fierce competitor a leader and someone that you are gonna be glad is on your team.
