What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
One goal I set for myself was to improve my blocking technique within the box. I definitely improved over the season, but Still have room for improvement with my hand placement and staying low at all times. Another goal I set for myself and the team was to repeat as conference champions and make the playoffs. As a team we ended up winning the conference championship again!
Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?
I took advantage of the extra year by learning more about the tight end position. The extra year also helped me understand more about blocking schemes within the box and defensive schemes.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
They would say I am an extreme competitor that loves to win! Also that I love the off-season grind with my teammates and that I will push everyone around me to get better!
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
I focus on how the defense lines up to certain formations and how defense players move and their tendency when they are in man or zone.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
I would say my size, catch radius, and my ability to track the ball in the air! Also that I can play anywhere from out wide at wide receiver to tight end!
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
My plans are to stay in the weight room and on the field working on routes and becoming a better blocker for the run game!
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
I am explosive with the ball in my hands and hard to bring down! I enjoy blocking for my teammates! Also I enjoy playing special teams!
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I may have played at a smaller school, but I believe I can play against anyone and I thrive under competitive pressure! I will bring my all every day and commit to the process of trying to become a great value to any team!
