Zuri Elrington: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Zuri Elrington
School: East Central
Position: OLB/DE
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 240

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

My most important goal that I achieved going into the season was to attain a level constant physical poise both on the field and in the weight room.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

I think my coaches would say that I’m a win at all costs type of guy that will work hard to fulfill his job title.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When I watch film I like to key in on tendencies. Also paying attention to body position, mass, height, and the scheme that my matchup is apart of.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players at my position is my work ethic and my overall hunger to get after the ball handler in passing situations, run downs and everything in between.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be training with a team of speed, strength and conditioning, and nutrition personnel to help further advance my physical performance to be better for my next opportunity.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Amongst some of my other assets, the ability to affect the passer while being versatile enough to affect the run at the same level is most valuable tool that I’d be able to bring to any team willing to giving me a chance.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I would urge the scouts to consider me as a prospect, as I would be a valuable asset to have on a roster. Making the move to sign me would not be a regrettable decision. I am accepting of the work of the process, and I can endure the long seasons ahead.
