Yawn Coleman Jr: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Yawn Coleman Jr
School: Florida Tech/IUP
Position: DB
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 205

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

My goals once I arrived to IUP for my senior year was to compete at a high level and finish the season healthy. By the grace of God, I am grateful to have accomplished both those goals and several others.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

All of my coaches would describe me as the type of player who is very passionate about the game of football, a player who is coachable, and who is a great teammate, but an even better person.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

While I am studying film, in preparation before facing an opponent, I focus on discovering tendencies of an offense, I like to see how wide receivers’ demeanor is during pass plays and run plays, and how the receiver runs his routes.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

Things that separate me from other players that play my position is my versatility, I can play any defensive back position on the field for all three downs. Also, my confidence and mental strength is at a very high level and I’ll only get better.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will train at my local training facility in my hometown of Orlando, Florida called Better Every Day, as well as working with other coaches and trainers that I have been blessed to work with in the past.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The strengths and abilities that I will bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field are a player that is willing to learn how to become a professional, will put the team and organization needs and wants before self, and just a hard working, respectful, and a hungry young man that is willing to prove his worth each and everyday.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My final pitch or sell to the NFL and other professional league scouts is that Yawn Coleman Jr., is without a doubt someone who needs to be in your organization and on your roster. He is an individual that is capable to make plays on the ball, cover from sideline to sideline, willing to put his hat on the ball carrier, and beyond all that, is a young man who will improve the culture and attitude of your locker room.
