Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

My biggest goal I accomplished was to be a positive leader and a more dependable player for my team. I had to make the switch to right guard during camp and I accomplished my goal of being just as effective for my team as I was at center.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

My coaches would say that I am smart, versatile, athletic, durable, and dependable.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I tend to focus on the small things when watching film. I check my stance, my first step, and I make sure my eyes are in the right place for the play. Next, I focus on my execution which involves my pad level, strike, drive, and finish. I also play close attention to my stamina throughout practices and games, so I can determine the extra work that I need to do. When watching various opponents, I focus on player tendencies, explosiveness off the ball, violent hands, and their motor.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

The biggest difference would be that I am smart. I am an electrical engineering major and I am the son of a former High School head coach, so I have a high football IQ. I am a very tough and physical player that strives to finish every block on every snap. I am also versatile, which showed by earning First Team All-SoCon at center in 2017 and guard in 2018. I also feel I am much stronger and athletic than other players at my position.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I began training the following week after my last football game on November 29, 2018. I will be continuing to get stronger in the weight room, while improving my speed, explosiveness, and flexibility. I have also began watching NFL games in depth and analyzing the schemes and techniques.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a versatile player that the coaches can always depend on. I am a competitor and give it my all to win. I am a coachable player that strives to improve everyday. I also keep a positive attitude through every situation.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I am a player that is going to work extremely hard and is willing to do whatever it takes to make the team succeed.
