Q: What were some of your goals heading into your final collegiate season?
Heading into my senior year, one obvious goal was to win a National Championship. Another goal for me was to dominate my opponents and make future teams have to game plan against me.
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Adaptive, Competitive, Versatile.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
This offseason I’m training in Raleigh, NC at a facility called D1 Sports.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
I like to look for the tendencies of the Offensive Lineman. For example, does he lean heavy when it’s a run or sit back when it’s a pass? Or maybe he lunges on a run block instead of keeping his base. Just smaller things that I can use to my advantage before the ball is even snapped.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I think a few things that separate me from others at my position are my athleticism and instincts. I grew up playing basketball and baseball which gives me quick hands/feet and quicker reflexes. Also, my upside separates me from others. I didn’t play football until my Senior year of high school and don’t feel like I got the best possible coaching in college because I went to a smaller school (D2) and we just didn’t have the resources.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
One of my greatest abilities on and off the field is my ability to adapt. Whether I need to adapt to an environment, a blocking scheme, or certain people, I will find a way to adapt and create a positive outcome. Another one of my ability is to learn quickly. I only need to see something demonstrated once (maybe twice) and I will be able to accomplish it. One of my greatest strengths is my competitiveness! I want to win at all costs and will do what it takes to compete on and off the field, whether I’m competing against another team, a teammate, or even my family, I want to WIN!
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I’m an athlete that’s willing to do whatever it takes to be successful on and off the field. I’ve been an underdog my whole life, so I know how to and want to work for everything I get. My versatility is the key to my game and with proper coaching and resources, there’s no telling where I will end up in my career.
