Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
I wanted to make a difference in the program. Draw notice to our team and defense. Pledge full accountability and give everything I had mentally/physically in me for one last season. I just wanted to give my testimony to other players, showing that everyone has their time. Was named Conference Player of the Week & National Player of the Week this season. Also was invited to numerous Senior Bowl games. Played in the D3 Senior Classic and won with the South team.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
They would say I’m a true living testimony. I stuck it through all my years at Louisiana College and stood up tall when my name was called upon. Anything I set my mind to, I get done. I play smart, I’m aggressive, and an all around athlete on the field. I made a switch from WR to cornerback my last two years of college.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
As a defensive back, I was taught to start off my focus on the QB, because he runs the whole offense. Check for the small things that he does throughout the game. Sometimes I study film 7 times back to back on each player and the o-line as 1. Studying player body language, movement, and tendencies are huge. I surround my game by playing smart, so watching film gives you a hypothesis (educated guess).
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
I’m not only athletic, but I play with passion, aggression, and smarts. With an unbeatable mindset. I know where the ball is going before it’s even thrown sometimes because of my film study and game knowledge. I know every player’s responsibility around me on defense.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I plan to continue perfecting my craft at all angles. Will train with Albert Brock (Ab_xplode) in New Orleans, LA. Just continue being a student of the game. Work everyday to become the best at my position. When the opportunity comes, I will be ready. If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready. Just keep faith, and grind my hardest.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
The ability to bring positivity, whether it’s on or off the field. Will be thankful for any opportunity given. Promise that they won’t be let down. I come with a winning mentality, I will play and do anything they want me to in order to WIN. I bring energy that can’t be matched. I make it my responsibility to make a difference in the program and lives of others.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
My Final pitch to the NFL, CFL, and other pro leagues is that I dreamed for this opportunity my whole life. So believe it when I say. Granted the opportunity, I will come with a humble attitude. Ready to be the best, ready to show you all that I’m the best. I come with a winning mentality and a will not lose mindset. I will work 24/7 if I have too. You will get a guy that can’t be denied. I come with a WILL TO WIN. I thank you all for the opportunity before it’s even given.
