Temoris Coats: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Temoris Coats
School: Carson-Newman
Position: LB
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 220

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I led my team in tackles (96) and also broke the all time single season record for tackles for a loss at my school (18). I became team captain and led my team each and every week. Also, I finished first team All-SAC and became All-Region and now I’m up for the Cliff Harris Award.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

My coaches would say that I’m a consistent, hard working leader who will always find a way to get better.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

First, I like to focus on the offensive linemen to see if I can pick up any tendencies that they show. Then, I go back and check for their top plays.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me is my preparation. I’m watching film 24/7 whether it’s at the facility or on my phone between classes. I take every rep at practice seriously because each rep is an opportunity to get better.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be training back at Carson–Newman University on every aspect of my game, whether it’s explosion, speed, etc.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I will bring consistency, reliability, and a dog mentality to the team. I’m a very disciplined person who doesn’t get in off the field troubles and on the field you will get nothing short of 100% every day.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I’m willing to do anything that the team needs. If they are looking for someone who is going to be consistent and have that dog mentality about themselves, then I’m your guy.
