Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

Set out to leave no room for regrets in training, how I prepared or mental reps. I can comfortably say I gave my best efforts and have no regrets with my final collegiate season.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I think they would say I was a hard worker, low maintenance guy who helped lift others up and helped the team win.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

As a Tight End, you are in a unique position on the field. Many times you are asked to do it all. That being said you have to understand what your assignment is and what the offense is trying to accomplish altogether. The first level always comes first, I like to learn how a defensive end plays, what moves he throws, and how he plays into you. Next is looking at the linebackers and watching how they play the run versus the pass. Looking at the physicality that defensive players bring is very important in knowing how to block them or make them miss in play-action where you have to bluff. Some guys will try to jump around you and others will try to play through you. Finding weaknesses in somebody’s ability to cover is a great way to get separation and take advantage of our catch radius. If you know how that guy plays before you even play him you’re at an advantage. Lastly, it is important to look at the safeties and how they play their coverages. Seeing how they spin to a different coverage and their tendencies will help me sniff out potential blitzes and also will help me determine the route I am supposed to run to find open grass in their defense. The Tight End position is the best position in football, you have to be a dynamic and smart athlete.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I am a true hybrid TE. Not a 1 dimensional Tight End. Can be a weapon in the run game and the pass game.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I will be training with Dave Stroshine who is an elite level trainer here in the beautiful land of Utah.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My ability to lift others up when they are down. I am always looking out for my people and will always be someone they can look to.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I’m ready.
