Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?
I worked on being more explosive all summer. So coming into the fall, I felt like I had a better get off than anybody. I started studying my opponents with more in-depth detail. As far as what the lineman does well as well as what he isn’t comfortable with. I said I wanted to block more field goals, which I did. I actually led the nation (both FBS and FCS ) this year.
Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?
I play angry. I’m an extremely hard worker. I’m passionate about my craft. I hate losing more than I love winning. I push myself as well as teammates to uncomfortable limits that can only make us both better.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?
I rarely notice what I do good on film. It’s not something I look for. I put all of my focus on what I’m not doing so well, and if I’m doing good in an area, I still want to find ways to get better. I want to expose every flaw until there are very minimal.
Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?
My technique. I’m a technician in my opinion. Hand placement, head fakes, foot placement is all extremely important to me. I don’t know many that try to perfect the little things because they don’t think it truly matters.
Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?
I plan on breaking my body down to build it back up. I try to go beyond the limits of my body every chance I get. I plan on having the best pro day of anyone at my position period.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My passion and my unwillingness to be out worked goes unmatched. I bring out the best in everyone around me. I’m going to push you, rookie or vet, to match my emotion and tireless effort.
Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
I’m a student of the game. All I want to do is learn everything I possibly can. I’m a team player. I do whatever it takes for the team. I’m the hardest working man I know and I take pride in that.
