Quinn McElfresh: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Quinn McElfresh
School: Mississippi Valley State
Position: WR/PR
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 220

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

To give it all I have every game and practice, knowing that it will be my last college season and my last chance to play with my brothers at MVSU. Also, to keep getting better every day and push myself to be the best I can be on and off the field. I feel like I accomplished both of those goals.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

That I am a team player, a physical player, and a guy that works hard and puts forth his best effort each and every day.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

If I’m watching myself on film, I look for anything that a DB might be able to see on me, that they might try and take advantage of. Then, I go to practice and work on that. Maybe that could be something like, tipping away a route, or any false steps I’m taking in my routes. If I’m watching film on an opponent, I look at how physical they are, how their hips are, are the aggressive, do they come down in run support, etc.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I think the way I practice and how hard I work in the offseason separates me from other players at my position. As well as my ability to come down with the 50/50 balls.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be training at D1 sports in Tampa and I will be putting in work every day in preparation for my pro day and leading up to any opportunities that I will have with professional teams.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am a physical WR with great ball skills, hands, and routes, and I will always find a way to get the job done. I’m always looking to improve on something in my game. I will also represent the organization off the field, in the highest of standards.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I will come ready to compete and work hard everyday and do anything that I am asked to do to help the team win.
