Preston Gordon: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Preston Gordon
School: Texas Tech
Position: DL
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 297

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

I would say that my coaches at both Texas Tech and Rice would say that I am a hardworking and honest player. And that I am a person who puts the team first.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When I watch film I try to grade my self on every play. I am honest with myself about effort technique and execution. However to ensure better results I try to watch film with a coach.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

One thing that separates me is my willingness to do things right and my positive mindset that I take into training day in and day out

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

This offseason I’ll be training with Noel Scarlett at Driven Elite just working on my craft as well as my overall strength and endurance.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Some of my strengths on the field include my overall strength in the weight room, as well as my twitchy ability that I have been blessed with. Off the field I am a well spoken man who leans a lot on my belief in God, and I am also a person who puts family and others first before my own wants as needs.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My final pitch would be for scouts to feel free to ask others their opinion about me, as a football player, and a man both on and off the field. I would also let the scouts know that whatever team takes a chance on me they will be getting a person who comes to work day in and day out.
