Orlando McKinley: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Orlando McKinley
School: Florida A&M
Position: CB/RS
Height: 5’10″
Weight: 180

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

The main goal I accomplished was being more aggressive in man and putting my hands on receivers.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

They would say that I’m a natural leader, a guy who knows how to perform and take care of the little things to make the big things happen.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I tend to watch how receivers run their routes and how do they show what they’re going to do whether it be a run or a pass. I also look to see what the receiver into the boundary does just to see what type of athlete I’m going up against.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

Football IQ, leadership skills, I have quick twitch feet with oily hips and whenever the ball is near me I attack! I’m 5’10 180 lbs but I play like 6’3 240 lbs.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

This offseason I’ve traveled to Orlando, Tallahassee, and Atlanta working on everything that critics say were my weaknesses as well as worked on my strengths to make them even stronger.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

You can’t teach heart and you can’t teach speed! I’ve always been one of the smallest on my team but like I said earlier I play like I’m 6’3 240 lbs.
