Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goals, based on performance, for my final collegiate season: 1,000 yards receiving, lead the conference in receiving touchdowns, be a repeat All-Conference player and an All-American. Unfortunately, I did not get to achieve those goals. After realizing that these goals were not going to be met because our team was struggling during a rebuilding year with a new staff, I set out new goals. They included being a more vocal leader, someone that the younger players and coaches could count on to make play when we needed it, and someone that people could learn from on and off the field. I am proud and glad that I can say that I met the new goals.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would say that I am someone who would fight for the cause, which is the good of the team. They would say that I am unselfish, and unbothered, meaning I will work toward the team goal without complaint or ego. Many say, that I have tough and disciplined practice habits that gave way to positive game performances that resulted in All-Conference Honors. They have said that I am athletic, versatile, and have range as a receiving threat. They have also said that I am a student of the game who has a good understanding of concepts, resulting in them working more effectively while I am on the field, and that leads to others having success as well.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I am studying practice film of myself, I look for my mistakes as well as my successful plays. Studying both helps me understand what works and what does not work for me. For example, I will look at my releases, my breaks, and how I tracked the ball. Breaking these three things down has led to a successful colligate career. When I am studying the game film of an opponent, I am breaking down each coverage, as well as each defensive back. For example, according to which coverage they are in I look for small, key details that give away coverages, techniques, and other components that can help me attack that DB that will lead to my success. These include where they are positioned (On or Off), where their eyes are (on me or the quarterback), where their hands are, how their feet are positioned; if they are staggered, if they are square, if they are on their heels getting ready to bail, or if they are on their toes preparing to press me. There are many things I look for when breaking down my tape, as well as an opponent’s. These film sessions have led to success in practice and in games.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

The thing that separates me from other pro prospects at my position is my selflessness, my want, my versatility, my hands, and my understanding of the game. I will do anything to help my team be successful, whether that is going to put up a big block for my running back, or if that means going across the middle in between defenders to catch a pass. I give it my all no matter what the situation is or how I am feeling.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

My offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities will consist of weight lifting, running sprints and for distance, position-specific workouts, and recovery. These are key factors that I believe will help me be successful, and lead to me being prepared for any professional opportunity that is extended to me.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am smart and accountable, I love to push myself and those around me to reach their full potential, I do not fear failing, I am a leader, and I am selfless.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I will do whatever is necessary to help a team be successful, and I understand the importance of discipline and dedication that it takes to play at the professional level. Although I may not be thought of as a top prospect, I am confident in my abilities that if I am allowed to compete, I will help that team be successful.
