Nick Torres: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Nick Torres
School: Villanova University
Position: Offensive Line
Height: 6-6
Weight: 310

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

This year, I focused a lot on both playing and improving off the field. Changing my eating habits made a big difference it’s true, 70% of training is about what you eat. Plus, I spent more time watching film, which helped me become a better player.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My teammates and coaches would say I am a tough, reliable and resilient player. Throughout my time at Villanova everyone has seen be excel into a dominant player as an offensive lineman.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

In preparation for game day there are multiple things I watch. I’ll first start out by watching a full game. This is for personal and how the players play on certain down and distances. Secondly, I’ll watch formational cut-up. If we’re going to spread the defense out I’ll watch those type of formations to see how the defense react to being in that front. Third, situational football. What they do in a 2 minute drill, how they play in the redzone, how they play a 4th and 1/ goal. These are important within a game. Fourth, I watch a 3rd down cut up. Then later in the week it’s back to personal. How they align, how they play a certain technique, if I can pick up on cues when they stunt.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

First my size and strength. Standing at 6’6 315 pounds I use my size as an advantage especially within the CAA. My knowledge of the game. I’ve been coached by one of the best offensive line coaches on the country and have gained experience and knowledge of the game.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I will be doing NFL pre-draft training at TEST Academy in Jersey.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field, my lateral ability in the rum block game is great. Also I take immense amount of pride in my past blocking, that is somethingI am very diligent, and off the field, I’m all about teamwork, setting a good example, and working hard. I can attest to this because my teammates voted me team captain for the 2023 team. I believe I can bring a positive impact both during games and in the team environment.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

I bring grit, perseverance, and a strong drive to play the game no matter what. I’m confident that I can make a positive impact wherever I land; I just need the chance to prove it.
