Name: Standish Dobard
College: Miami
Position: Tight End
Height: 6’4″
Weight: 255
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Standish: Nasty, physical, and Tough.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Standish: Right now I am training hard as ever. I’m mostly training for speed. For my pro day, I’m working for my 40 to be a 4.6/4.7 and I plan to do 225, 26 times. I am also cutting down fat on my body to better my game. I am running a lot of routes and catching a large amount of footballs everyday.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Standish: I compare myself to Dwayne Allen who plays TE for the Colts. The reason I think our game is similar is because he’s a big guy like me and can block, but can also be a big player in the pass game.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Standish: When I study film, I look for tips from the whole defense, but mainly the guy I’ll be going up against. I try to find things he’s not good at and attack it.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Standish: What separates me from other TEs is I think the game is getting away from TEs that can block well. I think thats one of my strengths and still being athletic enough to get a first down or even a touchdown.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Standish: What I bring to a team is motivation and hard work, Ill always give 110% on and off the field.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Standish: When you get a guy like me, you are getting a guy who wont give up and will give all out effort on special teams or wherever you need me.
