Name: Chad Geter
College: Gardner Webb
Position: Linebacker
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 245
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Chad: Physical, Explosive, Quick.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Chad: I am training at the Upward Star Center with Gary Hazelwood for 6 weeks. Working on speed, strength, and explosiveness. Working to make myself better in every aspect.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Chad: I would compare myself to Sean Lee. He’s always around the ball and sometimes people don’t give him enough credit that he deserves. I’ve been like that my whole life.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Chad: When I watch film, I look for all of the weaknesses for my opponent. I look to see what do they do to allow my teammates and I to be able to play great plays. Also, I look at tendencies. I try to find a lot of tendencies with the offensive line because they can give the play away very easily sometimes.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Chad: I grew up playing a lot in the Secondary which has given me a comfort being able to attack plays and the football from a downhill technique, but also allowed me to feel comfortable being able to make a one on one play in space against skill players. As I have grown and put on size/strength, I have worked hard to be able to maintain the ability to be efficient in space, but also use my added bulk to create mismatches in my favor in the run game as well.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Chad: I think an NFL team should draft me for a number of reasons, but the first one is simple. I can help a NFL franchise WIN! I love the competition and the opportunity to be a part of something as special as the NFL. I gained a deeper appreciation for what it means to get to be a part of a team as my college time progressed and want to do whatever it takes to experience that at the highest level possible.
Gardner-Webb taught me what an awesome platform the game of football can be. If an NFL Team drafts me, I would revel in the opportunities that come with being able to represent the team in a positive manner off of the football field as well. Being a positive influence on kids, supporting local charities and using our God-given gifts to help those less fortunate are things I have enjoyed in the past and know I would bring positively to any NFL roster.

I’ve watched this young man and his mom grow together for years. He is an excellent student and athlete . He doesn’t start and not finish, he is a finisher and a great example for our youth , as I show my fourteen year old his accomplishments. Thanks Chad for being a great young man and may the NFL realize what a gem you are and a true example of leadership.
