Name: Cedric Poole
College: Miles
Position: Safety
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 202
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Cedric: Instinctive, aggressive and versatile.
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Cedric: Right now Im training in Bessesmer, AL at the Warehouse Performance Institute with Mike McCoy and we are mostly working on speed, explosion, and endurance. We are getting built to last from head to toe.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Cedric: Eric Berry. I’m a supreme blend of strength and athleticism. I may come off as an average size defensive back, but I most definitely do not play as if I am average. Hard nose on both pass and run support.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Cedric: Tendencies of both left and right tackles to read pass or run q’s. Also, quarterback and receiver collaborations. What routes and combinations are thrown in certain situations. Everyone has a habit and a weakness. When I watch film, I try to expose them both.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Cedric: My range and ability to anticipate when playing both run and pass. Film is a big part of that.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Cedric: Production at any position on the field. Rather it be corner, nickel, safety, or special teams. I will find a way to get my name called! I can make a stop on 3rd down, go catch the punt on 4th. Make positive yards and be right back out with the punt team ready to sprint down and make an face up open field tackle.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Cedric: If you are looking for a young man who is a sponge to this game, someone who understands the process and what it takes and is willing to do whatever it takes to help make a good franchise a great one, you have to look no further!
