Name: Adonis Cruz
College: Cheyney
Position: Guard
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 290
Q: If you could describe your style of play in 3 words, what would they be?
Adonis: Aggressive, Athletic, and Smart .
Q: How are you going to train/prepare this offseason in preparation for the draft or other pro opportunities?
Adonis: Right now I’m working on a lot of explosion, and staying low in and out my stance.
Q: If you could compare yourself to one current or former NFL player who would it be and why?
Adonis: Kelechi Osemele and Zack Martin. I started watching them two more this season and they put guys down and also make athletic blocks, especially at the 2nd level.
Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on or look for?
Adonis: I look for D-lineman’s tendencies, what moves they like to do, if he is aggressive off the ball. I look for linebackers and if they show blitz through their stance and also what foot or angle I have to take to beat them on certain plays.
Q: What separates you from other players at your position?
Adonis: What separates me is my aggression. I hit someone every play, whether it’s going my way or not, I’m athletic in the trenches, I can move linebackers out of holes for big gains, and I finish blocks.
Q: What kind of abilities would you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
Adonis: On the field, I can play multiple positions guard, center, and I have played tackle, and even if asked, I can play Fullback. I bring a good work ethic and I bring an attitude that I know I have to get better everyday and I won’t stop until I’m the best.
Q: What is your final pitch/sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?
Adonis: My pitch is that If you want a lineman who is physical, who has good feet and finishes with his hands and also plays both guard positions and center, you should want me. I bring good work ethic and my attitude is anything to help the team win.
