Mike Warren: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Mike Warren
School: Iowa State
Position: RB
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 215

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I was able to successfully be a part of another bowl team which has been rare since I’ve been at Iowa State. Going out with the resilient senior class was one of my biggest accomplishments.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

A hard-nosed, humble player who is willing to do anything for the team, personal glory has never been or will ever be above the team.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on the fundamentals, they are at the core of every position, specifically for RB, I always check my alignment before the play even starts, then I look at my footwork, etc. the small things pay big dividends when it comes to my position.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I would say my one cut ability, I’ve never been one to waste time, when I see a hole I hit it fast.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Drills, drills, drills. I know the main focus of the opportunities will be centered around individual work so I’ve been trying to think of every drill in the book that I could do on my own.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I bring willingness to do whatever is asked of me and a high motor when there is a task at hand. I also bring a selfless attitude.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

If a team is looking for a guy with grit, selflessness, and works hard, then I am the right person for that. I’ve been at the top and the bottom and I know what each feels like, but at the end of the day, personal goals aren’t what interest me, the camaraderie is what’s important.
