Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I wanted to contribute on special teams and I had a much bigger role on specials throughout the year.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

A player that can eliminate receivers with my size, length, athletic ability, and feet in press man coverage. Will make plays with my closing speed then plays the ball well in the air.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on my feet and having patience in all my movements on the field, and as far as my opponent, I focus on the QB and WR tendencies and the style of player they are.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

Well it’s a lot of things, first off my size, height, weight, and arm length to go along with the quickness and speed I have to react and stay step for step with anybody. I can play CB in the slot or outside, my patience, ball skills, physicality, makes open field tackles, and most of all, my confidence. I know I can line up against anybody and win.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Training hard, to become the best version of Malik I can be. Weight room, conditioning, focusing on football drills that translate, and taking care of my body

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I’ll compete every rep, learn from others, be all in, and trustworthy.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

You’ll get a big confident, physical corner who can play tight man coverage and read, can close quickly in zone, can run with speedy receivers, and will get my head around to play the ball in the air.
