Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

My goals were lead our team in tackles and tackles for loss. I led our team in tackles and second in tackles for loss. Winning a third national championship was a goal of mine but came short in the playoffs. My last goal as a captain was to lead correctly and leave impacts, I strongly believe I have accomplished this.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

When there are plays to be made and there are big time moments lined up against us I’m someone you can lean on and trust in those moments. A leader and a playmaker.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

I look first at the O-line to quarterback to see any tendencies. Then I go receiver to running back to see what types of formations they like lining up into, along with any type motion. I try implementing our defense into the game I’m watching on the opponent and visualize what it would look like for us.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I love this game and everything that comes with it. I’m a winner, and I refuse to go out each day I strap pads on to lose. I put myself in a mindset that not just makes me that much better when it comes to this game, but the rest of the 10 guys around me.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I haven’t decided where I will be training yet, but for now I’m in the gym where our strength coach has led us to two consecutive national championships.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My ability to move sideline to sideline making plays on the ball. My aggressiveness is also a strength, with my wrestling background I’m able to stay low and agile with any athletic move on the field.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

My Name is Major Dedmond, and I’m going to make sure that if you take a chance on me it will worth the investment.
