Lyrics Klugh: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Lyrics Klugh
School: Fairmont State/Towson
Position: CB/ATH
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 181

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I accomplished having a successful season with my team. Also, becoming an All-American and being placed in the record books at Fairmont State and breaking 1000 all purpose yards.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

I believe my coaches would say I go hard no matter what situation or condition I am in. My coaches know that I’m a smart, experienced player.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When I’m studying film on myself, I focus on my weakness and things I really need to improve on more than the good things I’m doing. When studying opponents, I study how the receivers run their routes, how they break, and their body language, the splits between the receivers and their concepts and what the offense likes to do. The main thing I study though would have to be my technique.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I’m faster than a lot of people on the field, so I use my speed to an advantage. Also, I’ve played both sides of the ball, so I know a lot things receivers like to do to get an advantage over a DB.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be training at two different facilities to get prepared for a combine and pro day.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My work ethic and I am very versatile. I don’t just want to be successful, I want my teammates to be successful as well.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I know I am coming from a smaller school than most of the guys that get drafted, but I know for a fact that I can play with guys in the league. I’m determined to keep working no matter what happens through the process, but I promise you won’t regret giving me a chance.
