Lane Taylor: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Lane Taylor
School: Lamar
Position: DB
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 195

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I would say the goal I was most proud of my senior year was being voted as a team captain by my fellow teammates.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

I think my coaches would say I’m a smart player, who is always going to be in the right spots and I’m not afraid to step up and make the play.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players at my position I think is my intelligence about the game and my position. I knew all 11 players jobs on the field and also gave the calls every snap. I helped others get lined every snap. So I believe I can be that second coach on the field when I need to be. Also the work I put in the film room.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I have been training full time in Dallas, TX with TRPT outta mesquite for the last 8 weeks preparing for my pro day on March 27. I’m looking forward to have the opportunity to display all the hard work that I’ve put in.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Again I think my biggest strengths and abilities has to do with my intellect. I’m a smart guy on and off the field and am very knowledgeable about the game. I also am a hard worker. I’ve done nothing but grind my whole life and I believe that type of energy is contagious to be around for any organization or player.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Besides what I can do on the field, my energy and leadership skills on and off the field will be infectious to any organization and I think that’s something that can’t be taught.
