Justice Bishop: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Justice Bishop
School: Union College
Position: LB
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 235

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

As a team we came up short of our goals my senior year. Individually I had back to back 60+ tackle seasons as a DE. Led the conference with most tackles by a lineman my junior year. I also was selected to the All-Commonwealth team after my junior year. After my senior year I was invited to 6 senior all star games and played in 4. Including the FCS Bowl and Dream Bowl.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

They would say I’m a winner. Someone that will do whatever it takes to win. They will say I am a leader on and off the field and an emotional player that gets the best out of his teammates. They will also say I am a very coachable player.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I learn everything I can about the left tackle that I would be going against and the running back and the quarterback. I would learn about them personally such as height, weight, family members, high school attended, previous college, accolades, previous injuries, and check their social medias. From film I will study guys steps on run and pass plays, how backs hit certain holes, guys stances, who the QB is reading on pass plays, and teams favorite formations and what they run out of them.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other guys is how much I sacrifice to reach my goals. Some guys may go out and party on the weekends or lose focus of what they want when they are tired. Not me. If it’s not me playing football or working out then I am watching football. I strive to continually get better everyday. Also, my football IQ is off the charts. Next, I am big enough and strong enough to be physical in the run game and guard backs, tight ends, and slots in the pass. I also have a huge array of pass rush moves to get the QB when needed. Lastly, I love special teams and can make plays on all of them.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I actually have already began my training. I am training at P3 Specialized Performance in Houston Texas! Strength, speed, and mobility training all done by the best to prepare me for the next level.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Strengths I will bring to any team is being a team player. Being a solid locker room guy that will never be in the wrong situation. Someone that can play multiple positions on the field on defense and can contribute on any special teams. I am the type of player that raises the level of energy of other guys at practice and in the game.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

Any professional team that makes the move and picks me up will be getting a solid locker room guy that I guarantee will be the hardest worker on the team on the field and in the film room. I am a guy that can help change the culture or keep the culture of winning going. I am a strong athletic linebacker that has not even scratched the surface of my potential. Each rep of training and practice I take I am getting better. Small school or not I am one of the best linebacker prospects in this draft and will continue to show that for the team that takes the chance to sign me.
