JJ Johnson: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: JJ Johnson
School: Arizona Christian
Position: WR
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 183

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

Biggest goal of mine was to put my pride aside and become a better teammate person overall.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

I come to practice 110% everyday. I am willing to listen and learn.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I study my opponents strengths and weaknesses. I already know mine going in. So when I’m three steps ahead I know how to counteract everything my opponent throws at me.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

My willingness to learn and Listen. I do not know everything I am not perfect so I am willing to put my pride aside and hear my coach’s point of views whether it’s positive or negative.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’m one of those kids that can’t afford the top training facilities and personal trainers. So I have to put in twice the work each and everyday. That means 2-3 gym sessions a day.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Strengths I can bring to a professional program is my eagerness to be myself on and off the field. Listen to coaches, speak when spoken too and adapt to any environment as well as bring that 110% practice effort to my teammates everyday. We both benefit from that type of work ethic.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My final pitch would be I haven’t peaked at all I believe I am just scratching the surface of my talent. I think with the right coach I can evolve into a better player on and off the field.
