Jaiave Magalei: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Jaiave Magalei
School: University of Louisiana / TAMUC / ECU
Position: Quarterback
Height: 6-2
Weight: 225

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The main goal is always to win but a personal focus of mine was to improve on my ability to make off script plays when the pocket breaks down.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would say that I’m very calm but also very competitive. And when I’ve been healthy you can also tell that I’m very talented as well.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I focus on defenses’ tendencies towards certain formations and situations such as down and distance, 2 minute drills, Redzone and so forth. As far as critiquing myself, I pay attention to my timing, footwork, reads and overall pocket presence and what I can do better in those areas moving forward.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I think what makes me different is that I have a high ceiling and when I’ve been completely healthy I have showed that I’m different. But also my ability to naturally process and get through progressions.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

I will be training out in California until the Pro Day.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

On the field, you’re bringing in someone that can help you win, process fast and execute a game plan. Off the field, you’ll be bringing someone in that is a genuine person, but also willing to learn and prepare to compete.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

You’ll be getting someone that can ball.
