Germell Jenkins: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Germell Jenkins
School: Georgetown College
Position: DB
Height: 6’1″
Weight: 200

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

Goals I accomplished this past season were making first team all-conference, having a great senior season and coming out healthy, and be top in the conference in interceptions and passes defended.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

My coaches would say that I am a great leader, a competitor, and true field general, and an overall charismatic guy who puts his teammates first.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I focus on myself and how I can do certain techniques better than the previous weeks, the technique gives you a chance every single play when done correctly. I also like to look at other player’s tendencies, especially on certain down and distances.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players is my intelligence and football knowledge, as well as the intensity that I play with every single rep. As well as my ability to play every single position in the secondary and a nickel/outside linebacker position. Also my leadership ability to have so much influence over my teammates and have people of different backgrounds come together for one main cause, which would be getting W’s and having fun!

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I trained this offseason with ALL DAY ATHLETICS in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The ability to pick up a playbook at a faster pace than most and the will to perform any task in order for the team to win. My ability to be a great open-field tackler and cover a lot of ground in the secondary and having a ballhawk mentality. For off the field, I am a guy who likes to represent whatever team or organization that I am apart of to the highest standard. I value family time more than anything because those are the people who helped me get to where I am today.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

My final pitch would be to not let the competition I played in stop you from giving a guy like me a chance. The film speaks for itself, I played all four years of my collegiate career with a three of those years as a starter. I am hungry and eager to get out on the field and compete with the best, I know I can do it!
