Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?
A: My main goals for this year were to
1. score at least 10 touchdowns
I finished the year out with 13 total touchdowns
2.Make First Team All-Conference/ All-American
I made First Team All-Conference as both a receiver and a kick returner
3.Reach 1,000 receiving yards
Even though I had an incredible season, I still came up 14 yards short of the 1,000 yard mark.
This season I also set 3 AAC records in one weekend versus D2 Valdosta State. I was selected as special teams player of the week twice, and I was also selected as Specialist of the Year for the AAC.
Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?
“Emery is an high intensity, highly competitive, high Football IQ player. In games as well as in practice each day, you will not find an NAIA WR that works harder than him. I came from assisting coaching WRs at UAPB under Don Treadwell. He works as hard if not harder than some D1 guys. He is lightening in a bottle!”
Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?
Every night. I even sit in with our coaches when they are game planning. Trying to see the opponent through the eyes of my coordinator.
Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?
My work ethic, ability to set myself up, and my big play ability.
Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?
Currently working out/conditioning daily. I plan to get a workout plan from my WR coach’s brother who is a D1 Strength Coach.
Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?
My hunger and drive to win. My love for the game and drive to grow my football IQ, effort, and charismatic leadership will push my position group and unit to elevate their game.
Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?
I am a young man with nothing but passion for the game, and I’m hungry to get any piece of action that any organization is willing to give me. I want to continue my journey learning and evolving through the game.
