Name: Dorian Miles
School: Missouri Valley College
Position: WR
Height: 6-3
Weight: 193

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

Before the season I had the goal to be first team all conference and to have more meaningful catches than I did last year .Thanks to my coaches and teammates, I was able to accomplish that goal. My catches this year were surely more meaningful than my ones last year, so that was special. I got the chance to see the endzone frequently like last year which was always fun. But i’m unsure of all conferences, i’m still waiting to hear back from the conference.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

I think my teammates would say that I’m energetic and that I normally set the temperature of the room that i’m in. When talking about my play on the field, I believe that they would say that I’m a consistent playmaker, someone who when you need a big play, you can depend on.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

In order to improve my game while watching film, I normally first search for individual tendencies. Does my matchup like to press? Is my match up patient or is he susceptible to double moves? If I can predict what you’ll do as a defensive back I can better exploit things like your positioning, hand placement, and leverage. After figuring that out I like to find the tendencies of the whole defense as well, what coverage do they play in certain scenarios. When watching myself I try to watch to make sure that all of my routes look similar.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

I think the biggest thing that separates me is my adaptability. On the field I believe that I can play my position well because of my reaction to change. Last year I played on the frontside of the offense but this year I was the backside threat. In those two years I saw two completely different types of coverages, giving me the ability to beat both.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

This summer I plan on going back home to Georgia and speed train, but more importantly I want to work on explosion. I think towards the end of the year I noticed that I’m not as explosive as I’d like to be, so I plan on sharpening both of those tools (speed and explosion). I also want to work balance like Alvin Kamara, his balance program is extremely helpful, especially for me.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I think on the field I bring big play ability and consistency. I think also during the game I block exceptionally well which is very overlooked in today’s pass heavy game. Lastly I think that I read defenses better than most and that helps me find soft spots in certain coverages making an easier throw for the quarterback.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

Oftentimes guys that come from smaller schools go overlooked throughout this process, but the diamonds who are found in small schools are the ones who make for the greatest stories. In selecting me, you get the ability to create the next best one.
