What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

The goals that I set for my final college season was to help lead my team to a winning season along with a conference championship as I served as my second year of being team captain. I also had goals of becoming an all conference linebacker which I accomplished.

Q: How do you think you took advantage of the extra year of eligibility to increase your chances of going pro?

I think the extra year allowed me to have another year to develop and improve the small details of my game. It gave me a chance to reflect back on my previous season and find ways that I could improve as a player. It gave me the chance to provide more film to scouts. It also allowed me to have another year with my teammates to capitalize on a great season.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

My coaches and teammates would say that I am a great leader as I served as captain for two years and I lead by example. I put the team first as I do whatever it takes to win. I’m a hardworking, intelligent IQ, and physical player. I’m always finding new ways to improve my game and I love the film room. Another thing is that my adaptability is great when it comes to being able to handle adversity or anything that gets in the mix of play.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When I study film on myself, I look for mental errors, false steps, effort, play recognition, hand usage for blockers, and tackling efficientancy. I am very critical of myself as I want to make sure I’m not being a repeat offender to where the opposing team can predict my game. I also like to make sure I’m taking negatives off film each game to help improve my game. I also embrace the positives that I am doing to help myself notice the type of player I am. As for studying opponents, some things that I focus on when studying an opponent is first the personnel. I want to know who the whole offense is so I can get familiar with them. More so the O lineman, Running backs, and Quarterback. I look at different O lineman tendencies seeing if one is light handed meaning he’s going to pull, or if one is high in his stance indicating pass protection. I look at the running backs run style seeing what type of back he is along with if he gives anything away pre snap. Lastly, for the quarterback I check to see his cadence before he snaps the ball along with his go to targets and what he likes to do when pressured.

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

What separates me from others is my physicality and aggressiveness being able to take on blocks along with making tackles. My tackle efficiency is also a major key. My ability to handle adversity on and off the field is another thing. I embrace special teams as I played on it even while being a starter, so that’s something I take pride in especially to help my team win.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

As of right now, I am currently staying in shape and working on my craft, staying ready for my opportunity as my pro day has been completed.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Some strengths and abilities that I will bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field is my passion for the game, always eager to learn and soak up as much knowledge as possible. This game has no ceiling and being able to improve constantly is what I strive for. My ability to learn fast is also key as I have had to learn three different playbooks out of my college career. Another thing is my availability, being able to count on me for anything, not having to worry about if I’m going to be out for something minor. Any team that takes a chance on me will be getting a well respected leader, hardworking and dedicated player who strives everyday. Someone who they can count on and not have to worry about off the field issues. Another iis someone who is always willing to help the team in any way possible.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

If you’re looking for someone who has a lot of experience, been a captain(leader), hardworking, works well with others, never settles for average, gives max effort, passionate for the game, embracing and helping team culture, and has the traits to become an impactful player then I’m the player you’re looking for.
