Davon Muldrow: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Davon Muldrow
School: New Mexico Highlands
Position: S/Nickel/Rover
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 188

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

Taking a role in being a leader knowing the young guys would react off the seniors energy. I always told myself I’m being watched by the younger guys and for my senior year, I wanted to be accountable and do everything right. I started treating my senior season as my job from practice to the games. I just wanted to be the best leader.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

They would say I’m a team player. I played multiple positions, started D-Line, Safety, and Linebacker. I did whatever to help our team win even if it wasn’t my main position.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

I really focus on tendencies if I’m watching opponents. To better my game, I watch the greats to break down their techniques like Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, Eric Berry, Tyrann Mathieu, and Earl Thomas. It’s a lot of safeties I watch constantly to make my game better.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

I believe what separates me from others is my patience. I’m an aggressive player. I love contact, but when I line up with a WR pre snap, I really like to watch every move a WR tries to do from the feet and alignment at the line,  including eyes, etc. I watch it all.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’m going to be back home in California training at a top facility. I will be focusing on my speed and power with Ex NFL & CFL players, learning the ins and outs of what to expect for the pro day, etc. I take this part very serious when it’s time to train, so I won’t be wasting any time to get straight to work.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

Leadership from day one. When I step into the building, you will get high positive energy. I want my teammates to take ownership in what we mean to the city, kids, and the community, We have an image to uphold.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

You’re going to get a hard working, responsible player that’s going to represent the organization in the manner it’s supposed to be represented. A player that’s coachable and will come to work positive and ready to get better everyday, no matter what.
