Dalton Hall: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Dalton Hall
School: Tuskegee
Position: K/P
Height: 6’2″
Weight: 280

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

My goal was to down at least 15 punts inside the 20 yard line, and I surpassed that goal with 16 inside the 20 on 47 punts which was around 38% of my punts being inside the 20.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

“You’re a player that doesn’t need to be motivated, an excellent teammate that is willing to sacrifice your goals for the good of team. Reliable, trustworthy, and all out good person that is self motivated and a perfectionist.” -Coach Craig Agee Tuskegee University

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

As a punter and kicker, I watch my practice film every day and game film to focus on my form and operation times to make sure I’m performing flawlessly on game day.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other players at my position would be my leg strength and how hard I work on my craft in the “offseason”. Also, the fact that I punt Left footed and kick Right footed which is ideal for what most coaches look for in a punter and a kicker.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

Right now I am focusing on losing weight to improve my flexibility and overall athleticism. I will also be preparing for the draft by training full time with Coach Mike McCabe from One on One Kicking.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

My strengths include the ability to hit long range field goals and my ability to put the ball where my coaches want it when punting. I take pride in my ability to flip the field and keep the other team as close to their end zone as possible.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I have always been compared to Sebastian Janikowski by my looks and my leg strength. I have grown and developed as a player with that mindset and I want teams to know that as a small school player with less opportunities as these big D1 schools, I don’t take anything for granted and I work harder because of it. I want to be that next Diamond in the rough.
