Caleb Adams: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Caleb Adams
School: Wisconsin-Stout
Position: OT/OG/C
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 300

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

Goals that I accomplished going into my final season were to be a team captain, get All-Conference, and All-Region. The only goal that I did not get was to be an All-American. That was the one I really wanted to achieve, however I feel that has given me another reason to continue my football career. I feel I still have so much to prove, and I am thankful to have the opportunity to get the chance to continue with football.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

I think the most important quality that my coaches would say unselfish. I was an All-Conference and All-Region guard my junior year, then my senior year I was asked to move out to tackle since we had more depth at guard than we did at tackle. I wanted to do what’s best for the team in order to put us in the best position to win games and that’s what I did. In the long run I feel it was the best for me as well because now scouts can see my versatility on film and how I play at both guard and tackle.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, the most important thing that you can do is study your opponents. The more you watch the better prepared you are going to be. However, in order to improve my game, I study past games and look at the mistakes that I made and try to find out how to fix it so it never happens again.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

Versatility, I can play any position on the offensive line which is something not every other NFL prospect can say.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I will be training at Engelbart Training Systems (ETS). They train Adam Theilen and several other pro athletes.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I am very active in the community. Throughout my college career I have tried to do my best to help the community in any way possible. People might think that it is not a big deal to volunteer around the community, but it really does have an impact. Volunteering and helping out in the community are a great way to meet new people and help people around the community see what UW-Stout football is all about, which in return you will see some of those same faces at games to come support you.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I know a lot of pro scouts are doubting me because I am a division three football player, however whenever I am given the opportunity to prove myself, I do it. I got to compete in the National Bowl in Daytona Beach, Florida which is a division three and two All-Star game. I wasn’t asked to play in the FCS National Bowl which is the division one All-Star game because they had doubt of whether I was good enough. After they watched my performance in the National Bowl they were impressed with my talents and invited me back a month later to play in the FBS Tropical Bowl. That was a huge honor that they thought my talents were good enough to go against some of the top division one athletes in the nation and I played well. Basically, what I am trying to say is that it’s easy to doubt me, however any opportunity that I have been given, I have proved myself as to why I am considered to be an NFL prospect.
