Antonio Clark: 2019 Draft Prospect Interview

Name: Antonio Clark
School: Colorado Mesa
Position: CB
Height: 5’8″
Weight: 170

Q: What goals did you accomplish heading into your final collegiate season?

I was elected as a captain for the second time which meant a lot to me. We didn’t have the season we expected to as a team, but I had a good season individually and was awarded with a first team all-conference selection.

Q: What would your coaches say about the type of player you are?

My coaches would say I’m a cerebral player. I watch a lot of film and take preparation very serious. They’d also say that I’m a leader. I wear my heart on my sleeve and guys feed off of that.

Q: When you are studying film, what do you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film, I always focus on technique, footwork, and leverage specifically. Quarterback tendencies are also huge points of emphasis for me.

Q: What separates you from the other players at your position?

What separates me from other guys at my position is my competitiveness. Every single play I’m trying to dominate the guy lined up across from me.

Q: How will you train and prepare this offseason for the draft or other pro opportunities?

I’ll be working out with my strength coach at school while I finish up this semester. We’re focusing on speed and quickness as well as gaining solid weight.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

I understand the privilege and responsibility of being a professional. With that being said, I know how to conduct myself off the field and stay out of trouble. I come from humble beginnings, so giving back and helping the community is something I believe I can really excel in as well. As far as on the field, you’re getting a guy that comes to work everyday and truly is trying to perfect his craft. I’m coachable and always trying to learn new things. I refuse to be satisfied with my progress and am always striving to be better.

Q: What is your final pitch or sell to NFL and other pro league scouts?

I know I’m small, but you can’t measure my heart. I know I have the ability to compete at the highest level and am eager to prove that. All I need is one team to give me a chance.
