Ahmad Jones: 2024 Pro Prospect Interview

Name: Ahmad Jones
School: Delaware Valley University
Position: LB
Height: 6-1
Weight: 195

Q: What goals did you set and/or accomplish in your final collegiate season?

In my final collegiate season I finished first team all conference (2x First Team All MAC), finished 4th on the team with tackles (65), and won our conference championship for the 6th consecutive year.

Q: What would your coaches and teammates say about the type of player you are?

They would tell you that I am a very elusive and versatile player whose motor doesn’t stop going. I have a different type of approach to the game and once I get things rolling it’s hard for me to come down.

Q: When you are studying film, what are the things you focus on to improve your game?

When studying film I watch my potential matchup for the weekend. As far as if have to focus on a mobile Qb or a speedy slot receiver. As I’m focusing on them I also have to include the offense of lineman as well because they will always tell you what the play is and where it’s goin. If my job for the weekend is playing outside of the box my main focus is the slot and offense of tackle, if I’m coming down and playing in the box I’m looking at the triangle (center, guard, back).

Q: What separates you from the other pro prospects at your position?

Even though my main position is linebacker I could be moved all around the defense. I could play in and out the box, nickel, safety, coming off the edge you name it.

Q: What is your offseason plan to train and prepare for professional opportunities?

This offseason my plan is to just stay active in the weight room and on the field, and perfect my craft because you never know when the opportunity will come.

Q: What kind of strengths and abilities will you bring to a team that will stand out both on and off the field?

The strengths and abilities I will bring to a team is being a Swiss Army knife. As I said before I have the ability and drive to be placed anywhere on the field for the better of the team. Off the field I will I try to lead as much as I can whether it’s being vocal or leading by example.

Q: What is your final pitch to the NFL and any other pro leagues?

That you’re going to get a guy who’s going to put his head down and work. Nothing is given so I’m here to take.
